Next Friday, April 18th, Katsuhiro Otomo’s Short Peace will make its U.S. theatrical debut. Otomo, the acclaimed Japanese director of films like Akira and Steamboy, has been involved in anthology features throughout his career, including Robot Carnival (1987) and Memories (1995), which was based on three of his own manga stories.

Los Angeles-based distribution company Eleven Arts will roll out Short Peace to nearly fifty theaters across the United States with screenings in Canada being planned for early May. The four collected films in the Sentai Filmworks-produced package are the Academy Award-nominated Possessions by Shuhei Morita (Kakurenbo), Gambo by Hiroaki Ando (Five Numbers!, Tekkon Kinkreet), A Farewell to Arms by Hajime Katoki (Gundam, Super Robot Wars) and Combustible directed by Otomo himself.

City and date information for the screenings can be found on the Eleven Arts website with updates on the film’s Facebook page.
