If you don't know what Full Throttle is see :

I'd love to catch these two on the big screen. If I'm reading right, registration opens next week, so I'll have to keep checking back. Thanks for the tip, Jerry!

Aachi and Ssipak is definitely worth watching. Don't expect character depth or revolutionary plot twists, but the story is quite solid anyway, even though it doesn't go too far away from the premise. Expect sex and violence, instead. And some scenes are pretty well made, especially the action ones. Even the 2D and 3D mixed scenes won't hurt your eyes.

On the other hand, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time IS the best anime of 2006, a very fine piece of animation. It's not visually stunning as Paprika or Tekkon Kinkurito, but its storytelling is first class and some of the backgrounds are just amazing. Another great work from the guys at Madhouse.

YES! I downloaded this movie a few months ago off of bit torrent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The content may put some off (a dystopian future where the main source of fuel is human poo), it doesn't get over-the-top disgusting like what you would typically see on Adult Swim, but the animation is simply superb! Honestly, if you wanna see contemporary 2d feature DONE RIGHT, this is it. There's a tiny spot of CG thrown in, but it's done only to match the hand drawn artwork and doesn't overshadow it.

I'm sooo jealous that we will most likely never see any American-made 2d film of this quality ever again... or even one with non family friendly content.

- Personally, I’m really looking forward to another Korean animated film, Kubby the Fox, which is also featured on that site GagaMan pointed out.

I've heard of this film too, and find it to be an interesting plot (though one former Japanese YouTuber whom seemed rather racist over Koreans felt they were ripping off a Studio Ghibli-type premise for that). I otherwise hope to see this through.

- Still, the Koreans are making some pretty kickass animated films.

And nothing like the days of those copycat giant robot anime flicks! We're really starting to see something great coming out of this, as long as they can keep up with their storytelling, I'll continue to show interest! Wonder if we'll get to that level where the networks and studios willl just import the Koeran works over instead of making up ones themselves to outsource there? That would be pretty sweet!

I have to confess that when I saw the "dookie-poo" post I ran away screaming. :-} Feces happened to be the one subject I'm just about totally revolted by, even if the story is made by talented people. Just my personality quirk, you might have a different subject that totally repulses you. But I feel differently about "Aachi and Ssipak". I'm instead impressed by the plot, very inspired. After all, feces is an alternative fuel people really are looking at, because it's renewable. But this movie has made some insights as to how that idea might work that didn't occur to me. Very thought provoking.
