Em Cooper, a Royal College of Art graduate, is best known for creating engaging and emotionally sensitive short films, specializing in a unique mix of oil paint animation over live action.
Cooper’s style offers a sensitive,Â visually rich perspective of her subjects . Her trademark approach involves the use of oil paint on glass animation as well as oil painted rotoscoped animation mixed with live-action.
Prior to joining Film Club, Cooper worked freelance as a director, editor and lead animator for commercials and documentaries, as well as directing and producing shorts for festival screenings. Her latest short film Confusion of Tongues premiered at the Brooklyn Film Festival in July 2011 to critical acclaim.
