NYC’s Big Screen Project Announces Slate of Animation Screenings for April

The Big Screen Project is happy to celebrate a month-long celebration of original animation from celebrated names in the New York animation field such as John Dilworth, Bill Plympton, Jeff Scher, Dan Meth and Elliot Cowan, showcases from Too Art 4 TV and Animation Block Party, and a special Girl’s Night Out celebrating contributions from women in animation (Emily Hubley, Nina Paley, and Debra Solomon). In addition to the premiers, the Big Screen Project will also be showing blocks of animation that are already in our general programming.

ABOUT THE BIG SCREEN PROJECT:
General: The Big Screen Project is an innovative venue for video, film, live and interactive content that will set a new standard for the urban, cinematic experience. It consists of a large 30 x 16.5 ft. HD Format LED screen located at the 10,000 sq. ft. public plaza behind a new 54-story multi-use building on Sixth Avenue between 29th and 30th Street in New York City.

Content: The content shown is eclectic ranging from the best in the arts, cinema, and new media to highlights in sports and video gaming. Our team of curators collects the best of global cultures in participation with strategic content partners such as art institutions, film festivals, ecologically and humanitarian minded not-for-profits etc. The programming will be at least 10 hours a day.

Went there. Is this thing even working yet. I am going to stop by again during the premiere of one of the animations. Maybe then it will be working. Looks like a big neck strain to watch anything there for too long.

We are currently in the mist of necessary repairs and screen maintenance all this week. Please feel free to drop by next week on April 11 for Emily Hubley.
