Now this is something interesting! I’ll puit this into consideration.

  • Why not post this on the main page? perhaps waiting for more info or pics? i could see that….

  • “Toy Story”‘s basic concept and characters were strong enough to carry – practically *demand* – two sequels. Now with “Cars 2” and “Monsters U” it looks like Pixar is coming down with “sequelitis,” a well-known Hollywood malady. I’m keeping my fingers crossed these movies deliver the goods, story and emotion-wise…

a PREquel? what’s the point of this?

i thought pixar is supposed to be story driven. if that’s true they should realize there’s no point in a prequel for this franchise.

is there any unanswered questions about mike and sulley? no. the point of a prequel would be to answer unanswered questions.

now if they were going further back into the past to show the two as cute little kids so the could exploit their “cuteness” in merchandising, i could understand that kind of prequel… not AGREE with it, but understand it.

the logical story line for a sequel called monster university would be that time has passed, mike and sulley have gone from working in the biz to training a new generation of monsters. jealousy develops when they encounter some talented but headstrong newcomers, etc etc.

    prequel. feh.

another bromance…maybe Brave will show what they do with female leads

  • Before Disney acquired Pixar, I remember there being some discussion about Disney doing sequels to all of Pixar’s hits – with or without Pixar, because they owned the rights to them. Perhaps that “request” for sequels was part of the sweet deal Pixar got when Disney bought them.

Klasky Csupo, fill your lawsuit immediately!

  • Oh… they hate each other at first? Can’t any great duos just hit it off and THEN develop a plot together? ALL I can imagine now is Mike and Sulley singing “What Is This Feeling?” from Wicked. I can’t be the only one.

It’s Pixar, so I’m sure they can pull this off.

  • Hey, it’s Pixar. In my eyes, they haven’t made even a lacklustre movie yet. I’ll be there! =)

    • Hummm, you haven’t seen “Cars” apparently…… Or the sequel.

  • I said it before and I’ll say it again, they were friends before college! They say in the movie that they were friends since about the fourth grade at least. Why are they changing the timeline?
