Turner Broadcasting UK has become the first media owner to offer free show content to people on Facebook via Milyoni’s Social Cinema technology, which debuted earlier this year. From today Tuesday 4th October, episodes from five popular Adult Swim series will be available to watch for free on the Adult Swim UK Facebook page.

Adult Swim shows which are available to watch include Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hungerforce, Metalocalypse, Superjail! and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
The episodes can be accessed via Milyoni’s Social Cinema technology, which enables viewers to rent programmes directly from the Adult Swim fan page on Facebook by liking the page – http://www.facebook.com/AdultSwimUK .

The first episode from each show is accessible for free, and there will be nine additional episodes from each series offered on the app, available to rent for a period of 48 hours at a cost of 10 Facebook Credits, equivalent to 63p.

Turner Broadcasting worked with leading F-commerce agency Milyoni, and innovative digital agency Essence to create the app. Milyoni is the leading F-commerce provider to offer video-on-demand and live event streams on Facebook through its Social Cinema technology. Social Cinema introduces another distribution channel for television broadcasters, and a new way to offer a shared viewing experience to fans.

Social Cinema allows Adult Swim viewers to post comments about their favorite shows, utilize Facebook social plugins (share, like, recommend) and participate in online discussions with other fans.

Anthony Lukom, Vice President and General Manager, UK and Ireland, Turner Broadcasting said: “In the UK in particular, Adult Swim has forged a loyal online following at www.adultswim.co.uk. Adult Swim is a brand which has built its success around online engagement and is known for being at the cusp of all that is new and innovative, and we’re delighted to be augmenting our online activity by offering free show content on the world’s biggest social platform.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Turner Broadcasting to bring a shared viewing experience to Adult Swim fans on Facebook in the UK,” said David Raycroft, VP of product and operations at Milyoni. “With an already highly engaged following, the added social features embedded into Social Cinema will allow Adult Swim fans to experience the shows with their friends no matter what time of day or night.”
