Turner Gets ‘First Look’ Rights to Singapore’s Scrawl Studios Original Shows

Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific today announced a multiyear agreement with Singapore’s Media Development Authority (MDA) and Scrawl Studios that provides Turner with the first look rights to new, original productions.

The landmark agreement marks the first time Turner, MDA and Scrawl Studios have joined forces to develop, produce and distribute high quality content for Turner’s leading kids’ channel, Cartoon Network, across the Asia Pacific region.

Vishnu Athreya, Executive Director, Programming Acquisitions & Development, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. said, “We’re always on the look out for fresh talent and ideas, and Singapore is fast emerging as a leading creative centre for the animation industry. We now have the opportunity to tap into the development slate of one of Asia’s most dynamic animation studios and we’re excited to be working closely with both MDA and Scrawl to deliver the very best in kids’ entertainment.”

With a focus on comedy and adventure genres, Turner will collaborate with Scrawl Studios on projects that reflect Cartoon Network’s surprising, funny, inspiring and bright personality – to ultimately animate kids’ lives.
