“The Art of Pixar” Now Shipping

Art of Pixar

Amazon’s website is now showing that they have copies of my latest book in stock. That would be The Art of Pixar: The Complete Color Scripts and Select Art from 25 Years of Animation, an important collection of color scripts from Pixar features and shorts. I haven’t seen the book yet, but those who have tell me it’s a handsome looking volume.

My friends at Catsuka inform me that a French language version of the book is also being prepared for release next month. Here’s the French edition cover:

Definitely looking forward to getting my hands on that!

Interesting that the publishers decided to go with a “Ratatouille”-themed cover for the French edition.

Indeed. I personally haven’t met any French person that feels identified with Ratatouille.

I plan on getting BOTH editions! I’m looking forward to seeing more of Harley Jessup’s work for what is arguably Pixar’s best looking film.

To be honest, I’ve never cared much for the color scripts. I find them pretty boring and much prefer to see stuff like character concept sketches other developmental artwork.

I love collecting beautiful books…but it is draining my cash!!! How am I supposed to resist this one? I’ve been watching this on Amazon waiting for them to get it in stock! The french version has the same cover as the Art of Ratatouille…weird!

Mine arrived from Amazon yesterday. It’s a beautiful book and I love seeing the complete color scripts in context. Congrats Amid.
