“Looney Tune Bounce” By Mr. Ghetto (NSFW)

Um, I don’t see any putty tats in this video, but I see a lot of nice girls having a good time. And, after all, isn’t that what Looney Tunes are all about.

(Thanks, John Ryan, on Cartoon Brew’s Facebook page)

    T’ought. It’s “I t’ought I saw a puddy tat.”

I watched the whole thing. Thank you Amid.

  • Dino

Lots of follow-through and secondary action going on here.

  • A Writer

    Nice animation

  • rgallows

Kinda reminds me of another repetitive music video that also focuses on lots of jiggling.

    “Bob Clampett likes this.”

  • John

Pretty much sums up everything that is wrong in the world.

  • Barry Siegel

Nice animation- all done on ones.

  • Eric Spector

this is disgusting and has nothing to do with advancing the art of animation.

  • CrystalRB

    Hey
Mute the sound at around the 1:35 mark and start playing Andre Rieu’s French Cancan over it
With the rough dub it’s much less related to Looney Toons and just plain loony but…

    …just saying
    try it

  • top cat james

Ah, one of my favorite Looney Tunes! Frank Tashlin’s “Puss N’ Booty”.

  • Jerold Howard

How in the world could two things I love (Hip-hop and Looney Tunes) be combined to make something I hate so much?

  • http://www.portapuppets.does.it uncle wayne

well, thank Jesus i won’t be humming THAT all day…..but i, being one who lovvvves black “puddy”…..enjoys it!!!!

So you think this sexist video is just good clean fun? Please think again. Look up the “Slutwalk” movement to get an idea what this kind of video does to women on the streets.

And as for using WB phrases in music, listen to “Crossing 10K” from Fini Tribe. It’s from 1989, but musically in a totally different class than this.

come on Amid… why is this posted on Cartoon Brew

    • http://www.amidamidi.com Amid

Cartoon Brew has always been interested in exploring the wacky intersection of animation, pop culture and merchandising, whether it’s Spongebob thermometers, Popeye pot shops, Flintstones porn, He-Man homoerotica, Hello Kitty toilet papper or this. This video samples Mel Blanc’s voice, and uses a famous cartoon catchphrase as the basis of an entire song. Will everybody like it? No. Is it exactly the sort of thing that we’ve always posted on the Brew? Yes.

      • DW

The debate on posting links to crowd funded animated projects rages on!…and then you post this. Nice one…

        agreed, hahahah!

Okay makes a little more sense

this shows a level of ignorance by the creators and continues to degrade the way my people are looked at. You didn’t make the video so thats not your problem nor do I hold anything against you, but this IS a problem because it is something the black community needs to change. I will just say that I am disappointed to see this on the Cartoon Brew.

      • http://erikbutter.blogspot.com Erik Butter

So what? It’s also good to see how things should not be done… it’s stuff like this that makes you feel better about yourself and you learn from it.

      • http://www.amidamidi.com Amid

Jamaal – Your points are totally valid, but honestly, I would have posted any music video that sexualized a Looney Tunes catchphrase as its entire gimmick. That the musicians happen to be black is incidental to the cartoon element, which is why it appeared on Cartoon Brew.

    • http://cjdoodles.blogspot.com/ CJ

“I will just say that I am disappointed to see this on the Cartoon Brew.”

Why? You or I may not agree with this but it is relevant to Cartoon Brew in the ways that previous posts have been and those posts haven’t gotten bashed for what was being portrayed to the level that this is.

I’m black, and while I do not agree with what the people in the video are doing and I to believe it degrades the perception of black culture as a whole, it is a medium and art form. And like it or not, this is the kind of thing that many blacks are sadly into. I think posting it here and criticizing certain elements is a good thing because it puts it into the light to be debated. And debates and criticisms of this kind of media often dictates change in those willing to realize what is being done here and may stop some people from supporting this kind of medium.

Personally I would criticize the people who made it, not necessarily Cartoon Brew for posting it.

Looney Tunes is so ubiquitous to our modern culture that the editorial trick for this site isn’t what to put in, but what to leave out.

  • Everett Downing

This has absolutely no relevance to animation. And what you might think is a “fun post” could easily be perceived as a derogatory attack. If that’s not your intention, give a little more thought to what you decide to post.

    • http://cjdoodles.blogspot.com/ CJ

Just because someone posts a video of a race of people acting in an inappropriate manner does not mean the poster is supporting bigotry, racism, or stereotypes. This is a part of African American culture, similar to how being a hillbilly is part of Caucasian culture, is a sect, not an absolute. So people can complain all they want but this is an accurate portrayal of a sect of black culture produced by people from the black culture, whether we like it or not.

And as far as I’m concerned Cartoon Brew has been very fair on its presentation of people of color. People are acting like all Amid posts are blackface, racist, and constantly showing gangstas and hoes. I’ve seen little if any of that here, and for everyone I could find I’m sure I could find a benign or enlightening post on a person of African decent here.

I am black and am personally getting tired of this political correctness on how a race is portrayed via the media. If anyone is being derogatory it is the people who produced this music video, not the person who posted it. So I think people are getting offended at the wrong person here.

      • http://enigmation.de slowtiger

I’m pissed because of the depiction of women in this video. Skin colour has nothing to do with it.

  • Was My Face Red

We need more women in animation. It’s not a boys club. We need to advance the medium as a valid artform. We have to WOAH, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTY!!!!!!!

  • http://clxcool.deviantart.com/ CLXcool

Am I the only one who just watched the entire video on mute just to see the females shaking their trunks?

    • cst

      Is that you, Al Bundy?

  • http://clxcool.deviantart.com/ CLXcool

Dayum, thats a whole lot of booty going on there.

  • vic

All this is exactly what he did in the Walmart song, Mr Ghetto is a hack!

  • Matt

I don’t see what race has to do with it other than they’re black and hispanic in this particular video, as if asian and white girls can’t wiggle as well. And I don’t see anything inappropriate either. This is art, this is a music video, and they’re dancing in it and probably got paid for it as well, so its a job. Europe has nude statues and art everywhere depicting all sorts of human activity out in the open. Its sad that this generation idea of art and animation is still stuck on Mickey mouse and donald duck shit. as for being on CartoonBrew,….this is his house. And yes,..I did mute it and just watch the girls dance…beautiful.

    • Anim2

“as if asian and white girls can’t wiggle as well.”

      They can?

  • arse gratia artis

That’s hilarious. I was just thinking, “Hey, I’m in a good mood! I better check out Cartoon Brew to make me angry with my animation peers who apparently can’t distinguish art from simple lurid imagery.” Except for Jerold and Mike J. You guys have always rocked, and will no doubt continue to do so. CLEANUP TIME!!!

  • Spencer

If it wasn’t for that damn song!!!
