We are being bombarded with holiday wishes from animators all over the world. Lady Ice is a Disney epic in seven minutes. Liron Pe’er began the film in 2004 as her final performance piece for the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. After graduating, Pe’er continued to work on it and in 2010, 5-and-a-half years later, she completed it. Pe’er is currently a freelance animator in Israel. A few years ago, The Jim Henson Company Archives discovered material relating to an unfinished 1965 animated short by Jim Henson: Alexander The Grape. They combined the found footage with the storyboard and an existing soundtrack, and completed a reconstruction – which is now online. Denis Chapon has been animating twelve drawings a day—everyday—for the past four years. The resulting stream of conscious short feels like an animated journal, bursting with creative concepts and happy accidents. The drawings were all done in pen. |
