Eh, it’s no G-Force.

James says:

Sweet mother of… I was hoping everyone on the planet would miss this. Sadly, I contributed to this monstrosity and will I’ll be the first in line to be shot. Note: in the process of working on this show, I feel I’ve lost a part of my soul.

Joel Brinkerhoff says:

Not that I have any credulity to loose in the animation arts, but I think this looked great and had me laughing and wanting to see it.

Scott says:

Looks better, and more entertaining, than that recent Christmas Carol movie. Did Zemickis do this one, too?

Jon from Elmwood says:

I have to admit I was really really entertained by the first, and although I doubt I’ll go see this in the theater I do hope it does well, it looks cute and not dumbed down… I’ll be adding it to my Netflix for sure!

Ange says:

Don’t knock it before you try it I say. This looks a lot better then the first – and they look like they’ve improved on their CG skills. I think it’d be worth it, if not theaters, at least a rental.

Artisticulated says:

Whew! I thought it wasn’t gonna be in 3-D. Now I know it’s gonna be great!

Feh. says:

The first film was garbage.

This doesn’t seem much better. Even worse, in fact.

Yup. Not going to see this. But then again, I don’t think anyone will. Just another box office bomb that Hollywood is going to blame on the apathy of moviegoers instead of putting in effort to make decent films.

droosan says:

Y’know .. I rather enjoyed the first one. And — while this sequel might’ve taken a bit longer to come around than most — the trailer has me looking forward to it.

Mike Milo says:
12/18/09  11:18am

Haha… I actually liked it. The 3d was pretty well done, the animation worked well and the jokes were funny. On the whole this is pretty cute for the audience it’s aimed at.

Isaac says:
12/18/09  11:36am

Looks like a fun, silly, kids movie. I really don’t see a reason to get all worked up about it, especially with its higher-than-average production values.

Rooniman says:
12/18/09  12:02pm

It doesn’t look too bad, but then again you never know…

Daniel J Permutt says:
12/18/09  12:11pm

Perhaps this film will revive my love affair with the Talking Dog genre..

David Nethery says:
12/18/09  1:27pm

Can a CG remake of All Dogs Go To Heaven be far behind ?

pizzaforeveryone says:
12/18/09  1:39pm

i would be lying if i said i didn’t see and sort of enjoy the first one at the dollar theater in indianapolis

Leirin says:
12/18/09  1:46pm

No offense intended towards anyone who thinks otherwise, but personally, I’m sick of stuff like this…

chipper says:
12/18/09  2:16pm

Wasn’t the first one anti-cat? Maybe this is to make up for it.

In real life, if there were that many cats in a room there’d be a huge fight all day.

Chris Sokalofsky says:
12/18/09  2:28pm

I also have to agree that I thought the 1st film was quite funny and enjoyable despite the high cheeseball factor. An odd outlier, considering my views are normally right in line with other animators, but I thought it was funny and cute.

VGREER says:
12/18/09  2:28pm

Well this looks ridiculous, and I’m definitely looking forward to it.

captainmurphy says:
12/18/09  3:20pm

More dancing and talking babies!

Platy says:
12/18/09  3:43pm

I almost felt bad for laughing at the squirrel joke xD

Chris Sobieniak says:
12/18/09  7:07pm

Didn’t surprise me they had to use that ‘meme’ during the squirrel message bit, hopefully this would be better than the first (which I’ve only seen one and forgotten already).

Pedro Nakama says:
12/18/09  7:31pm

As long as it doesn’t involve a cast member from “Friends” and a monkey that plays baseball I think it’ll be alright!

Mick Collins says:
12/18/09  9:19pm

@James: Don’t worry about it man, no-one’s gonna hold this against you. We all do what we gotta, y’know? There are worse things you could have worked on.

@Feh: Hollywood doesn’t blame apathy, it blames filesharing, apparently for giving them their most profitable year EVER this year.

@David Nethery: SHHHH!!!! Someone might hear you!

Andrew Kieswetter says:
12/19/09  4:44am

The first Cats & Dogs movie was fun but I think I’m going to give this one a miss. I’d rather see G-Force 2.

Austin Papageorge says:
12/19/09  9:31am

Why would they make a sequel to a moderately sucessful movie that is about 10 years old?

Erin Siegel says:
12/19/09  11:23am

You know honestly I liked the first film. Yeah, it was terrible in that it really didn’t add anything to the medium and the whole super-spy thing is done to death, but it was a light-hearted cartoon that didn’t take itself too seriously, like Saturday morning fare we indulged in as kids. Had it been completely animated, it would’ve been far less awkward.
And i dug the Russian. He was pulled from every James Bond film ever.
So I’m ok with a sequel. It’s a weird move considering how old the original is now, but I guess someone really enjoyed this film. I remember one of my teachers at USC talking about how the project was getting done about a year or year and a half ago. The name was the same then too.
