November 27, 2008 3:45 am
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers. Here’s a little turkey day treat – Tex Avery’s Jerky Turkey. For model sheets and animation drawings from the film, head on over to Kevin Langley’s blog. |
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just don’t eat at Joe’s.
Vintage Tex. Doesn’t get any better.
Happy Thanksgiving to the both of you! & to your families as well!
“Hey TURKEEEEEEEYYYYYY!!!!!”
Once again Tex proves that anything can happen in a cartoon.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
THAT WAS FLIPPIN’ HILARIOUS!
I’ve never seen that before!
Jimmy Durante turkey’s off, then?
Somehow I had never seen that one before either. Great fun – thanks very much for that
Happy Thanksgiving, Brewers & Readers!
“This sucks cuz…it isn’t John K’s work and…and…it reminds me too much of Family Guy…and…it doesn’t meet some impossible criteria that only I have in my own head but changes every day…and why didn’t the studios hire me?…or why did they hire me but not give me a fun job?..I hate my life… It’s not fair!…and blah blah blah wah wah whine…whine…my %$#@#!* hurts! ”
Just kidding! I love this cartoon. Come on this is Cartoonbrew. Someone had to do it!
Jeez, haven’t seen that one in a while, and I had forgetton how many wartime gags this short had during the first couple of minutes. Show yer love for Preston Blair, folks!
Happy Thanksgiving (belated) all you south of the ‘49.
Heap corny cartoon, ha-cha-cha-cha! :) :) :)
Did anyone notice the pilgrim jumping into the tub is an example from Preston’s animation book?
The artwork was changed in later editions, but you can see the original example here:

It’s great to see it in context.
