I don’t have the mp3’s of these recordings, but the sleeves are too cool not to share. Click thumbnails below to see larger images. Brew reader Hiland Hall sent in the front and back sleeve of a rare Mel Blanc promotional recording (below left and center) with nifty unidentified artwork. It’s hard to believe Blanc had to pitch himself like this – he must have been the world’s most famous voice actor at the time. UPDATE: Steve Worth at the Asifa-Hollywood Animation Archive posted the audio from this record here. Below right is the cover of some bizarre kiddie record I got off one of my daily visits to the LP Cover Lover blog. Check that out regularly for the coolest in oddball albums.

That third album was available in Canada (in French and English) from K-tel, and probably was not the most bizarre – I think that honor belongs to the 2-LP “William Shatner – Captain Of The Starship” set, issued in the US on Imperial records, recorded at a Trek convention when Shatner was at a low point in his life.
That said, here’s a K-Tel cover that would haved had Warner Brothers lawyers wringing their hands:

I realize that the Mel Blanc record was probably in a radio station repository, but what kind of cretin defaces artwork like that. Wasn’t there another way for WBFO to mark their property?

I have that LP! It was kind of a sequel to “Dumb Ditties” they released sometime before.
That album with the man in bunny suit I’ve had since I was a wee one in the 70’s. The rabbit’s name is Breezy. It’s full of classic songs and one or too originals. A K-Tel classic.
I remember TV ads for that K-Tel kids’ record, with the kids dancing around with the person in the bunny suit. Kinda creepy, really.
The Looney Tunes LP was great when I was 10 or so. It wasn’t until years later that I learned K-Tel used to edit the songs down to fit more tunes on each side. I was listening to an original 7″ 45 of Nervous Norvus’s classic Transfusion and I heard a whole new verse I’d never heard before!
Strangely enough, I have both of these records in my collection (to which Jerry would probably say, “It figures…”) except the second one is in English on the cover on my copy and the Mel Blanc album doesn’t have writing on it.
Any chance anyone knows a value on the Mel Blanc LP
