I thought ‘Charming’ was Snow White’s beau ..

Still, Dan Piraro is pretty consistent with the funny! ^_^

I can honestly say that Dan is amazing, I invited him to Montreal this Spring for a book convention and he put on two of his one man shows and he blew the socks out of everybody and he showed up at a doodling fare where many cartoonists gather and all had a blast. Dan is funnier in person. His strip is one of the top ones in my opinion, most strips are fillers with very little content. You must have passion. I saw passion in Dan when I took him out to lunch, he is a walking sponge, wanting to learn and experience life around him. Many cartoonists just sit behind a table all day and hope an idea will fall on their laps. Not Dan he draws from life. He read to us his emails that he gets from fans, mostly hate mail, even that stuff was funny.

“I thought ‘Charming’ was Snow White’s beau ..”

They were both named Prince Charming. Actually, they were brothers – Bret and Bart Charming.

To clear the wind, I asked my 8 year daughter who is an expert on fairy tales, well at least the Disney type and this is what she said….Prince Charming is a stock character who originates in a number of fairy tales. He is the prince who comes to the rescue of the damsel in distress, and typically must engage in a quest to liberate her from an evil spell. The name has been given to the heroes of a number of traditional folk tales, including Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. So it seems our Prince might be a polygamist.

I cut this out of the paper yesterday and taped it to the inside of one of my sketchbooks. I told my parents this will grace every animator’s desk and cubicle, mark my words! Thanks for posting it.
