Rebecca Sugar comic

Don’t Cry for Me, I’m Already Dead is a tearjerker of a comic about brothers who communicate only through Simpsons quotes. The artist is Rebecca Sugar whose “dirty” renditions of cartoon characters were featured on the Brew last year. Her mad drawing skills continue to knock my socks off.

Also don’t miss her droll student film Johnny Noodleneck:

…and this fine bit of dance animation:

Hilarious. Even more so because my brother and I engage in exactly the same theatrics; our parents think we’re crazy with all our babbling! A really funny comic though and the artwork is great. Thanks Amid, that’s made my day.

I don’t know if there’s anything more fun to animate than dance cycles.

My goodness, that whippersnapper sure can draw, animate, and story-tell. Bravo!

Rebecca is so awsome, both as a person and as an exraordinary artist of our time! I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Wow, Rebecca is an incredible artist. There is no possible reference for that crazy dance and yet it feels so real inside its own world. I’m amazed.

she draws extremely well, but that dance cycle is gonna leave me distrubed for awhile.

If only Simpsons was still funny like that.

Rebecca’s amazing- that’s all there is to it. Be sure to read Pug Davis, it’ll blow your mind.

Wow, She is amazing!

That comic is really sad..but I knew every line (and they quoted all of my favorites). I love her drawing style, it’s strange, unique and really well done!.

I’m incredibly jealous of her talent, and also in awe of her. I love love her personal drawing style, and am glad that it exists for me to drool over. What a well-executed story (the comic). And love the short film. Go Rebecca! Can’t wait to see more.
