I wish my local paper ran “Lio.” Every time I’ve run across it, it gives me a grin.

Good idea with the Sunday Funnies, Jerry. I haven’t had a newspaper subscription in years, so it’s quite enjoyable to get a little taste of what’s worth reading in the funnies on your site each week!

I’ve never understood why people found “Casper the Friendly Ghost” cartoons entertaining. But since they were a Famous Studios product, I suppose entertainment wasn’t ever part of the equation.
“Aaaauuuugh! A GHOST!!” [There follows some humiliatingly grotesque escape sequence.]

I’m not sure I understand the last one. A part of me almost gets it, but at the same time it isn’t really clicking. I like the art in these, though.
Even in the context of the full strip, that Arlo & Jannis one doesn’t make sense. So the joke is just showing the character in front of different backgrounds, followed by an acknowledgment that this premise is vaguely similar to one used in a successful animated cartoon from over 50 years ago? Wow. Hilarious.
Yes, GoComics is a really great site! You can find a lot of excellent comics there. “Bloom County”, “Take it from Circus”, “The Boondocks”, “Molly and the Bear”, “Doonesbury” and “Cul De Sac”.
I’m a HUGE Bloom County fan! It’s probably the best strip other than Peanuts. It’s great that they make the entire run of it available online.
