That’s just awesome, that’s all I have to say about that :)

HORRIBLE movie. Less horrible musical play.

Secret Confession: When I got home after seeing “Wall-E”, I popped a DVD version of “Hello Dolly” in and watched it. Double Secret Confession: I think I liked it.

Con-sarnit! Can’t we ever make a reference in a movie or television show without Hollywood looking too much into it these days?!!?

William Chappell says:

I won’t expect to many people will go see the broadway because they loved Wall-E….

Tom Sito says:

Oijysh!
Well, at least Wall-E wasn’t listening to THE ORIGINAL FAMILY BAND, or LOST HORIZONS..! Of course, for TOY STORY III Woody could do a medley of tunes from PAINT YOUR WAGON.

Steve Gattuso says:

We should all just be thankful that it wasn’t “Xanadu.”

Hannah says:

I guess we should be glad Wall-E wasn’t a fan of ABBA…

…oh… wait…

Pedro Nakama says:

The only good part of this movie was to see our national treasure Louis Armstrong performing.

Beckee says:

I dont know about the whole b’way revival bit – but if Wall-E maybe boosted rentals for the movie version theres no harm in that, Ive always loved it and was tickled to hear the songs used again.

Well, if Finding Nemo would entice those to seek out clownfish, I don’t see why not.

The New Trend in Animated Movies starting today:

Scenes from old movies from will be conspicuously incorporated into the storylines of new animated movies to bolster the sales of titles from the studio’s back catalog.

Okay. That’s just overly cynical.

I just hope I’m wrong.

Just think, if WALL-E had been watching “The Song Of The South”, we’d be watching an American special edition release pretty soon!

Jen says:

Not a Streisand fan but I LOVE the Hello Dolly movie anyways!

Oliver says:

I prefer Monty Python’s underwater rendition.

Andrew Smith says:

Anything that encourages kids to seek out older movies is fine by me!

Hearing “Put On Your Sunday Clothes” only made me want to go to Disneyland (It plays on the loop that you hear when walking on Main Street USA).

The other thing about this movie is, it’s a FOX catalog title, so it doesn’t benefit Disney to re-popularize it, unless of course, the Disneyland angle was on their mind…

SHREK 5 TO COME OUT WITH SCENES FROM “MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE.” ^_^

I’m willing to bet I’m the only one here who saw the original stage version of “Hello Dolly” with Carol Channing.

Broadway revival of the original Jerry Herman musical : YES .

Hopefully this does NOT mean a revival of the mediocre movie version of Hello Dolly … I think anyone who saw Wall-E and then seeks out the movie version of Hello Dolly will be very disappointed. The movie has it’s ‘moments’ (ha) but overall is a perfect exhibit of what killed off the Hollywood musical in the late 60’s .

IMO the film version of “Hello Dolly” is dreadful, I would NEVER sit through this stinker again–I’d rather be tied to a cactus & be kissed by Bea Arthur.

Hello Dolly! is a excellent show, the movie didn’t do justice and the music is excellent for Broadway theaters. The movie would have been taken different if Pixar had decided to add “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” music instead…

Zavkram says:

I disliked the musical film adaptation as well and never saw the broadway stage production. If you have to see a film version rent the film version of the original story on which the musical was based, “The Matchmaker” (starring Shirley Booth, Paul Ford, Anthony Perkins and a very young Robert Morse). It is a much better film adaptation than the one with Barbara Strisand and Walter Matthau, IMHO.

Instead of a Broadway revival, why not a new filmed version…..
And instead of an official “WALL-E II” sequel, let’s kill two birds with one stone: a new version, HELL-O DOLL-E, starring the cast of WALL-E and Fred Willard taking over the Walter Matthau part. Why not?
