Pssst! Save the date. Mark your calendar. May 21st, Woodbury University in Burbank @ 7:30PM. ASIFA-Hollywood is organizing a reunion/panel discussion/party to commemorate the 20th anniversary of The Little Mermaid.

Character animator Tom Sito will moderate a panel consisting of Mark Henn (Ariel), Andreas Deja (King Triton), Ruben Aquino (Ursula), Tina Price (CAPS system and early CGI) and Gary Trousedale (storyboards) – with many more guests and panelists to be announced. We’ll keep you posted with updates, but mark the date now!

Holy god! 20 years!? I didn’t realize I was only 7 when this came out. It definitely left an impression. But Beauty and the Beast was the Disney film that set me firmly on the path to working in animation.

This is one of my favourites. Too bad I can’t go. (Dissappointing groans)

Nice! Congratulations to the crew for 20 years of the existence of a great film!

Second favorite Disney film. It sucks that i’m over here in Vancouver, but i’m still saying kudos to John and Ron and the rest of the cast and crew for their 20th anniversary.

Lets hope “Princess and the Frog” will capture the traditional animation re-charge “Mermaid” did 20 years ago.

Does Tom Sito always moderate these Disney feature reuinions?

Also, The Lion King 15th anniversary is coming up this year. I wonder what’s going to commemorate that?

I thought Glen Keane animated Ariel?

“I thought Glen Keane animated Ariel?”

And so did Mark Henn.

I hope they invite everybody. Most of these reunions are just a bunch of clicks.

Glen Keane is still a directing animator on the film.

I checked the ASIFA Hollywood website and see nothing about this – it is not on their events calendar or anything.
