Thats a field steeped in talent and accomplishment… but I find myself rooting for Nick Park. He’s the one out of the three that has been an animator at core for all of his career. Lasseter and Judge are brilliant, but moved into different roles for most of their gravy years.

Wow. 5+ months. That’s a long time to look forward to something. LOL

I am very pleased to hear about those 3 recieving the Winsor McCay award.

All of them have contributed something to the world of animation during the past couple of decades, all to various degrees, and all have a distinctive association within their field of work.

Congrats to Nick Park! VERY well deserved.

Oh, they all are recipients of the award. Duh. I thought they were all nominees. Me no read so good.

Congrats to all three brilliant artists. Long may they create.

Judge, Lasseter and Park, despite the different subsets within animation in which they work, have one thing in common: these guys know how to tell engaging character-driven stories. Someday someone is going to tumble to the fact that that’s what filmmaking, animated or not, is all about.

All three are brilliant artists and filmmakers. In Britain, Aardman is widely seen as one of the greatest Animation studios in the world (certainly one of the best in Britain).

And I do agree with DanO. Nick Park is still animating in the dark of a basement, and clearly wants to keep making films the way that he wants and not the way that business executives suggest.

As Lasseter said, “Quality is a great business plan.”

Wow! I’m surprised. Those are actually 3 good choices.
