Animation in Columbus Ohio
October 25, 2007 3:00 am
Coming up in November is a series of unique animation programs at the Wexner Center for the Arts, on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus. All of them are well worth your time – and take particular note of the one on November 8th. Tuesday November 6th – The Short Films of the Brothers Quay – 7pm If you can get to central Ohio on November 8th, please drop by and say hello. And while you are there don’t forget to check the Ohio State University Cartoon Research Center (and see their current exhibit of rarely seen Milton Caniff art). |
cant wait!
“The Worst Cartoons Ever (with Jerry Beck in person) – 7pm (book signing at 6pm)”
Say, Jerry — the juxtaposition here of the phrases “The Worst Cartoons Ever” and “book signing” makes me long for the sort of definitive tome on terrible cartoons that only you could write. I realize that your plate is pretty full, but give it some thought!
I’d love to make it out there Jerry.
I need to get you to come to Indianapolis, the Indy chapter of Indiana University has a huge love of animation. We had John Canemaker out a couple years ago for an animation festival. We’d love to have you speak!
If my blood sugar doesn’t crash in the afternoon, I’ll probably drive over to Columbus to see you on the 8th.
Will you be bringing anything like books, DVD’s, or t-shirts to sell?
Hasdrubal – Yes, I’ll be signing my new books (or my old ones if you bring them). I may give away some Hornswiggle postcards (If I remember to bring them). There will be stuff for sale. Come!
Tommy Day – I’d love to speak at Indiana University. Feel free to have the folks who arrange for speakers contact me.
Hey Jerry, I sent an email to the powers that be here at IUPUI, and hopefully they’ll contact you. If not, I’ll keep bugging them. I know John Ludwick, a professor here, would love to have you here too.
