Thanks for posting this, Amid. We have an astonishing collection of pieces to auction. I’ll be at the Guild Saturday from noon to 4 pm, and the gallery will be open so people can preview the pieces, and I’ll answer any questions.

And for those who can’t make it to Burbank, you can bid by absentee bid. Go to the website and click on the “About the Auction” page to get details. We also have 10 amazing pieces on eBay right now. Come check it out, and on Sunday spend some money, get some great art, and do some good!

I got to really know Pres in the making of Pocahontas. He not only animated the lead character Pocahontas under Glen Keane, but he also was kind and cool enough to be one of our live action reference actors, as we shot every scene on a small stage at WDI in Glendale. Week after week, month after month even though he had tons of animation work on his desk he would come over and help us do the live action ref. He was such a positive, smiling, eager to help, happy to be involved, passionate, determined collaborator on the entire film making process. As testament to his expertise, i couldn’t tell sometimes if it was Glen’s or Pres’ scene in dailies. This is a guy who is not only extremely talented, his draftsmanship and his acting superb, but also hard working, completely guile-less, honest, sincere, generous, and so big hearted. This is why you see so many people putting up articles to be auctioned. Please consider spending a little hard earned wages on one of the auction pieces to help Pres and his beautiful family. He is a gorgeous man with a heart of gold and future made out of hope and grit and determination to overcome this vicious disease. Let him know he is not alone.
