Tonight in New York City, two artists who need little introduction—Bill Plympton and Peter de Sève—will discuss their work and artistic process in a discussion moderated by animation director J. J. Sedelmaier. The event, which begins at 7pm, will take place at the Academy Theater (Lighthouse Guild, 111 East 59th Street, NY, NY). Tickets are $3 for students/Academy members, and $5 general admission. Pre-order tickets online at the Academy website.

The lecture is being presented in conjunction with the Society of Illustrators, which is opening its new “Icons of Animation” exhibit this week. The gallery show of original artwork includes pieces by both Plympton and de Sève, as well as William Joyce and Carlos Nine. The general public is invited to attend the opening reception tomorrow evening.
