Sita Sings the Blues: One-Week NY Theatrical Run

Nina Paley’s animation masterpiece (and I don’t use that term loosely) is having a full one-week theatrical run in New York City from December 25-31. There are multiple screenings a day at the IFC Film Center (323 Sixth Avenue) and Paley writes on her blog that she’ll be doing Q&As at the 8:25 pm shows “most (possibly all) nights.” Showtimes and tickets are available at the IFC website. 4 comments posted in Feature Film, Flash

This is excellent news. Go Sita and Nina!
If you can see this movie theatrically, do it. I thought a lot might be lost with it being Flash animation projected on film, but I was very wrong.
Ugh. Wish it was a week later. I’m going to be in NYC on Jan 2 to catch Gilliam’s THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASUSS and this would have made a great “double feature.”
The run has now been extended to January 5th. Great news for you, FilmBuffRich!
