How many scatalogical references can you fit into a single trailer for a wholesome family film? John H. Williams, the producer of four Shrek movies, shows how it’s done with the trailer for his new film Get Squirrely:

Produced through Williams’ Vanguard Films and directed by Ross Venokur, with whom Williams has a three-picture deal, the film seems to be centered around some kind of quest to acquire guano, a.k.a. bat shit. The movie marks the screenwriting debut of Lenore Venokur, the director’s wife.

Here are some choice pieces of dialogue from the trailer:

“Humans are turning our food into butt cream?”

“I gotta go see a bat about some poop!”

“I’ve been eating Indian food all week. I’m ready to let it rip, boss.

“Guano — the gift that keeps giving, yeeaah!”

“How come my diet consists solely of an insect that eats other animal’s poop?”

The shit-stained $8.5 million family movie was produced in Canada at Toronto’s Awesometown Entertainment and a satellite crew at Muskoka Animation Studio Huntsville in the Ontario province. The film’s shitty voice cast includes John Leguizamo, Will Forte, Samantha Bee, and John Cleese.

As far as we can tell, no release date has been set for the United States, but the film opened in Poland earlier this month, where it has been one of that country’s top ten films for the last four weeks. Bottomline: poop s(m)ells!
