Hip Hop Nursery Rhymes

Lou Romano emailed me to point out this amazing blog post he did about his work on UP. It’s got tons of development art, animated fx tests, and photos from research trips.

It’s always nice to see Lou Romano’s development art, and I was especially surprised and delighted to see that one of pieces has a prominent place in the film.

I absolutely love the picture of the house at the top of the falls. From the moment I saw it in the movie. All I could think of was how it looked like it could have been drawn by Mary Blair on her South American trips with Walt.

Bravo, Lou.

too bad the movie doesn’t look like that.
instead pixar has to dazzle everyone with the infinite detail blob animation.

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that post. Lou has definitely taken his already brilliant work to a new level.
