How To Post Comments, Submit News and Advertise

Ground Rules for Posting Comments on Cartoon Brew
* Comments are moderated and will not appear immediately on the site so please be patient.

* We reserve the right to edit or delete comments at our sole discretion.

* Be considerate and respectful of others in the discussion. If your comment is defamatory, rude or unnecessarily antagonistic, it will be deleted without comment.

* It is ok to post with a nickname or alias, but your email address (which we will NEVER share publicly), must be a real, permanent email address. Comments with fake or non-permanent emails will be deleted.

* Stay on-topic. Comments are not a place to post random thoughts, “say hi,” or discuss ideas not directly related to the post. Off-topic comments or anything else that derails the discussion will be removed.

* The comments are a place for discussion, not promotion. Self-links are okay if they’re acknowledged as such and are relevant to the discussion. If we feel your link is mostly self-promotional, your comment will be removed or edited without notice.

* Comments don’t need signatures. There are fields provided for your name and the URL of your site right above the comment text area, so please don’t duplicate that info in your actual comment. Signatures in the body of your post will be deleted.

* If you are recommending or discussing something, disclose any relationship you may have to the artist, film project or company. This includes friends, family, co-workers, employers, etc.

Advertising on Cartoon Brew
If you’d like to advertise your film, TV show, company or other product on Cartoon Brew, please visit our advertising page. We offer affordable rates for both corporate sponsers and independent artists and studios.

News Submissions
Feel free to send us links to sites, artists or news stories that you want us to check out, whether it’s your own or somebody else’s. You can either contact Jerry or Amid. Please do not expect a reply back for news and link submissions. We look at every suggestion we receive, but due to the sheer number of submissions, cannot respond to everybody individually.

A special note to PR people: We love you guys, but please send us press releases if (and only if) you think it’s something that our readers might be interested in knowing about. If you read the site, you’ll know what that is. That does not include the news that your poorly animated show on so-and-so network received a .8 rating among tweens or details about the latest exec at your company who’s been promoted to a position they’re clearly not qualified for. Also, don’t send us emails with a “high-priority flag” or a “receipt acknowledgement flag—unless you enjoy having your emails ignored.

Reviewing Things on Cartoon Brew
We welcome cool swag to review (books, dvds, toys, etc.), but we make no guarantee that it will result in a post—let alone a positive post. Send your product to the most appropriate Brewmaster. After sending us your product, do not email us repeatedly asking if we will review your product. If we like it and feel it’s appropriate for Cartoon Brew, you’ll eventually see it on the site.

Asking for Critiques/Appraisals
Do not email to ask us for a personal critique of your animation, drawings or personal projects. We will never do that under any circumstance. Also, do not ask us to appraise your vintage animation art or ask us the value of your film collection. (And yes, all these things happen more often than one might expect.)

Disclosures
Readers tend to trust CartoonBrew because we try our best to be transparent and upfront with our readers. Both Brewmasters work in various facets of the animation industry, and if we post about something that we are affiliated with, we will always do our best to disclose our connection to the company or project. You can also find out more about our work histories on our bio/contact pages: Jerry Beck or Amid Amidi.

Cartoon Brew is independently owned and not affiliated with any other companies except for Cartoon Brew Films (who could’ve guessed). We receive a modest sum when you purchase products through the Amazon links on our site, and we also accept advertisements on the Brew through our ad reps Federated Media.
