Yooouuutuuube.com

Yooouuutuuube.com is a site that allows users to create a frame-by-frame video wall display using any YouTube video link. The effect is striking if you plug in a fast-cutting video like the one for this electronica song that uses sounds from Alice in Wonderland. I can envision animators coming up with some novel ways of utilizing this display format. |
The effect works nicely with the Moray McLaren video posted last week:

This is absolutely amazing!!!
I’ve seen this guy’s video before. It’s a pretty good remix.
The same guy who done this remix also did one on “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, the video version wasn’t edited by him though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNQtXJtUk4c
Obviously presentation is everything. Having the row size scaled to where the cuts and the refresh of the rows perfectly matches the beat is what really makes it work.
I made this video not too long ago, but I like it better this way! Cool!

I have just experimented with a recent animation I did

It is certainly a novel way of displaying a video; but I might personally use it for frame-by-frame analysis for when I do research for an animation, to understand what is going on frame-by-frame.
Ha!! That was cool!
Try this video at 160 pix:

this one looks like it was made to be used on that site. it wasn’t, obviously, but it works out amazing.

Oliver Laric’s “787 Cliparts” works really well…

I trying it with a Lantz cartoon. http://www.yooouuutuuube.com/v/?rows=20&cols=20&id=ukJn0YkKEAw&startZoom=1
man! this stuff is on drugs!!
(Alice was always on drugs tho)
great sync to a great flick
So funny!
I tried it to see a Paramount logo that hadn’t dissolved completly on logo transition splice on an NTA version of a certian farm cartoon, but would not do what it imagined.
The song is “Alice” by Pogo – a very talented Australian!

Love the videowall application though!
