“Super Duper Super Hero” by Mike Geiger

This new independently produced web series by illustrator Mike Geiger starts today. It’s simple stuff, but I love the clean look and fun poses – for more info and future episodes: click here.

Not bad. Reminds me of the good old days of Jay Ward animation :)

Yeah, I was going to post, it’s like Jay Ward animation, except animated. All it needs is thick outlines around the characters.

    LOVE IT!
Everything about it was spot on I say

Limited (perhaps by digital 2d flash symbols)animation done right!
It always bothers me in contemporary 2d digital animation when others do these great stylized 2d designs and then write them doing something in which the characters were not built, pronouncing the limitations of the design.

Nothing is wrong with being too cutty in this situation.

Yes, it reminds me of good old stuff but also as “recent” ( 10/15 years ago) as Early Elmo The Aardvark flashes, Powerpuff Girls and Dexter’s Lab….which also got it right.

Recent? Are you talking about the late 80s/early 90s Calarts style?

      • ShouldBeWorkin’

“recent” in quotes, relatively speaking, as in comparison to Jay Ward and early HB. I am not up on what styles influenced CalArts at what time, if any one style indeed did.

    ROCK ON!

    Great stuff Mike!
