To take a break from his day job as a CG animator at Nexus Productions, Brew reader Ben Cowell created a stop-motion music video for the The Schla La Las animated entirely with Lego. The video, which has a lighthearted lo-fi charm, can be viewed here. Ben has also posted a making of page.

    are the lego people copyrighted?

    If you do something commercial with them- thats not allowed is it? I assume they turn a blind eye to fan projects, but if I want to sell something with their toys in it I need their permission, right?

    "I just saw [$9.99] in the Holland animation festival. It is one of the best animated films that I’ve ever seen! I don’t talk about animation (because animation, and etc. are things that I’m not interested in). The design is good enough not to tease you. But the literature, the script, and the cinema in this film are fantastic. Made me think about one of my favorite all time movies “Smoke”. Yes, this film is a full Auster-esque experience. Smart and witty! It has to be nominated for an Oscar!"
