When he does something to be slammed for that’d be funny! Until then, he’ll have to be smart, articulate, and offering the largest tax cut to 80% of the American public in U.S. history.

And even if you don’t care for Obama, at least he’s not stupid like she is.

You know whats funny? whats so funny that its kind of sad? Is that one of the people in that interview had an incorrect impression of what the Bush doctrine is and it wasn’t Sarah Palin. It was Charlie Gibson.

Yet, the people trying to deride Palin’s performance in that interview are downright ignorant that the Bush Doctrine’s definition has changed three separate times during the last eight years. Charles Krauthammer elaborates:

Palin responded, quite sensibly to a question that is ambiguous, “In what respect, Charlie?”

Regardless of party affiliation, you gotta admit a good lampooning when you see one.
Besides, why can’t animation be on the pulse of current events like other fine arts? The absurdity derived from this interview can only be explained through caricature and exaggerated paraphrase– which makes sense for an animated interpretation.

As for politics,
Palin’s a joke and I’m glad I saw this.

I understand Amid’s comments on this thread — but, I can’t help think he’s being insincere — that Matt Damen video against Palin mentions Disney movies and… some Disney movies are animated… so it’s animation related?!

(but, on the flip side, I did love the Matt Damen post and showed it to my wife.)

From a lefty: To be fair, that portrayal of the interview wasn’t right. More succinctly, “That ain’t right! (SNAP!)”. Yet, it had me laughing. I’d never seen an animated political cartoon. I was about to comment on the still frame and how I thought it didn’t qualify as political satire, then I saw the link. I also have to agree with Mr. Field. That last Palin post was among the most animated I can recall. We may be a little geeky, but the passion is great!

Nice post, I for one found it funny. To all the people nay saying, it is animation after all. As artists isn’t it our job to lampoon from time to time? Everyone has an opinion and this is their blog, just sit back and enjoy.

Gibson would have to have been the one who had the incorrect impression, since Palin had no idea at all what it was. The definition may have changed over the last few years, but she didn’t know either what it currently is or what it has been.

Oh come on. Obama is comedy gold. A guy who went to a church run by a race-baiting preacher, who’s spent half his time as a Senator running for president, who thinks there are 57 states in the union, who has mostly voted “Present” rather than “yea” or “nay” when he bothers to show up for work (and this guy is an instigator of change?) and so-called “gifted” speaker who can’t function without a Teleprompter is a far better target (for cartoonists with actual comedic instincts) than an accomplished governor who can claim an 80% approval rating from the people she serves. If you can’t see Obama’s comedy potential, then you will have lived up to what the South Park creators’ said about liberals: “Turns out they have no sense of humor”.

Jason, is it the policy of treating nations that harbor terrorists as terrorists themselves, or is it the policy of promoting democracy in all regions of the world, or is it a willingness to pursue US military interests in a unilateral way.

Which is what she answered. Its the correct answer. Charlie Gibson didn’t elaborate because he did not know that there are 4 different post 9/11 definitions for the term. He said:

The guy is a complete idiot. Look up the definition at wikipedia and you can see it is a term with multiple uses. Its like asking someone if they are against piracy. What kind?

I believe Sara’s confusion was due to the fact that she attended many colleges before getting her degree. At these schools she would have received lots of different lessons and just needed to have a little help sorting that out…oh, you betcha…go you Mavericks! Your grasping here. Regardless of what the question was, it was blatantly obvious that she was just throwing out answers that had been fed to her by the campaign trainers. There were a few moments where one could see the real Palin, which made the scripted answers just that much more obvious, and even more obvious were the moments when she was lost.

The Bush doctrine has always revolved around “Preemtive War”, the other definitions are, “as I understand them”, to be ways of justifying Preemtive War. Most don’t even know what the Doctrine is, I concede that, however any political junky, politician, or member of the news media knows exactly what it is….with the exception of Sarah Palin. I think that it is also worthy to note that, if Palin had not seemed so awkward when she was asked, people wouldn’t be making such a big deal about it. She seemed incredibly uncomfortable by the question, and it showed.

I’m not trying to get into with you, I just don’t think that it does anyone any good to overlook obvious flaws in a candidate just so that one feels more confident in their choice.

I will personally be voting for Obama…those reasons are my own and not any business of anyone else…however I won’t and don’t make any excuses for him or the mistakes he’s made.
