Get Ready To Submit To Cartoon Brew’s Student Animation Fest

Quick reminder: we’re soon going to begin accepting submissions for the 3rd annual Cartoon Brew Student Animation Festival. Last year’s selections were fantastic and we’re planning to put together another showcase of outstanding student animation from around the globe. If you’re finishing up a student film this year, we hope you’ll submit to Cartoon Brew’s festival. Any student film completed after May 1, 2011 and not yet posted on-line is eligible. Full details coming soon!

Shame about your “not online” rule.
Most proper festivals abandoned that kInd of business eons ago.

I don’t think you understand the purpose of the festival, Elliot. It’s a year-end showcase for student films. Students who submit films have usually just completed them at the end of the school year, and are looking for a way debut their films in front of an industry audience.

Every selected student is paid, and they are also allowed to post their films anywhere else online shortly after debuting in our festival. We’re not preventing the films from spreading; quite the opposite we’re providing a jumpstart so that a film can achieve its widest possible exposure online.

We’ve worked over the past few years to come up with a fair model that works for everybody, especially the student filmmakers who we care deeply about, and it’s worked out beautifully.

Will there be a new blog post here when the details for the festival are ready? I am very anxious to submit a student film of mine, and it would be a shame to miss a great opportunity to share a year’s worth of work that is my thesis film :)

Keep up the great site of animation goodness.
    Cheers!
