“On The Water” by Yi Zhao

Quite simple and quite effective. Fresh off the festival circuit this beautiful film, a metaphor of the life cycle, was the graduation film of Yi Zhao for the Academy of Art and Design/St. Joost in the Netherlands.

Another film about a little boat that’s both visually simple & clear, while being none the less stunning and very affective in creating a mood and delivering a poignant message.

I watched this on the eve of my oldest son’s 4th birthday; I turned 43 earlier this week. I was moved to tears, and also to share with my parenting friends. As others have mentioned, incredibly poignant, moving, thought provoking. Thank you for your beautiful work.
