Oscar-Winning Shorts on YouTube
by amid

Get ready for the Oscars tonight by watching Oscar-winning animated shorts from past years. A handy list of all the Oscar-winning shorts on YouTube can be found on this blog. Many of the years are obviously missing but it’s still a lot more shorts than I expected to be online.

Surprised he left this lovely little film by Borge Ring…think it was the winner for 1985, and one of my personal favourites:

Also of note, it appears Stage6 will go bye-bye in a few days, how sad, but I saw it coming!

I have a memory of a cartoon I saw between the years 1953 and 1961 in Fort Worth, TX. It involved either seals or polar bears, and they were singing a heartbreaking song because one of their young had died. My late mother was of the opinion that whichever TV station showed it removed it from the airwaves because it was too mature for children. It was very powerful. Do you have any idea what I’m talking about?
Thanks!
Robin
