A caution to those who enter: If you win the DVD of “Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death”, your basically getting a Pan & Scan version of the entire film. I suggest trash it and buy the Blu-Ray version of either this or the Complete Collection (which features the original widescreen verison of “A Close Shave” and this latest adventure of Wallace & Gromit)

Sorry, but El Super Beasto is hardly a prize. It’s just awful, and lacks any wit, humour, or entertainment value. And it’s horribly produced.

I’m passing on “A Matter of Loaf and Death”, I saw from a DVDTalk review that the DVD version was going to be in cropped fullscreen. I’m hoping Hit Entertainment will, in sometime, give the rights to another studio who might bring the shorts in their best form.

El Superbeasto is filth, pure and simple. There’s nothing “adult” about it. It is in fact the most infantile, nasty, waste of time and money I’ve ever seen. it’s a porno, but of course no one will EVER admit that’s what it is because hey, it’s got Rob Zombie! And a smattering of other pseudo-celebs doing voices.

Whoop-dee-doo. Naked chicks every 2 seconds. Dick fart poop and sex jokes. Oh yeah. They sure have pushed the envelope on how to make a film as offputting as possible. And someone very desperately wanted to be John Kricfalusi, that’s for sure.

Garbage. Just…plain….garbage.

That would be most of John’s original Ren & Stimpy crew that worked on the movie (Carey Yost, Craig Kellman, Chris Reccardi, Lynne Naylor, etc.), doing things nice and Clampett-y, just like John preaches.

In all honesty, I have mixed emotions about this film. I enjoyed some of the humor, but I was kinda thrown off by all of the irrelevant boobs and nudity gags. I felt like if this was going to be pornographic then stop teasing and go all out “Hentai style”, otherwise don’t just throw bouncing boobs in the mix just because you can. Overall, a decent job. Not the best, but enjoyable. I loved the urban feel to it.
