Out of a Forest by Tobias Gundorff Boesen
February 14, 2010 6:39 pm
Tobias Gundorff Boesen’s Out of a Forest is a stop-motion effort out of Denmark’s The Animation Workshop, the same school responsible for Vegeterrible, which was featured on the site a few days ago. A lot of Out of the Forest was shot on location in forests around Viborg, Denmark, and the presence of prim and proper bunnies in this natural setting lends the film a magical flavor. The film was animated by Katrine Kiilerich, Frederik Villumsen, Christophe Peladan, and Tobias Gundorff Boesen, and the song,” Slow Show,” is by The National. The Animation Workshop’s students first caught my attention a few years back with John K. Mortensen’s short Fishing with Spinoza (2007). If Out of a Forest and Vegeterrible are an indication, the school’s Bachelor program, which only began seven years ago, is worth watching closely. |
That was fantastic!
Wow! Great, I didn’t see the ending coming, so many beautiful shots, the best being the hand coming out of the moon. Fantastic film.
Wow. Very well done. The lighting was very moody, and I loved the wolf design. And that ending—wonderful!
Wow. That was VERY impressive, and I did NOT see the ending coming. Great merging of song and animation. This would make a great movie…imagine a world of rabbits where, at any time, a giant hand descends from the sky to pluck you away into another world! Just really a great post.
Absolutely incredible.
Awesome puppets! Inspiring!
That really is an amazing video. beautiful animation, great storytelling, nice little quirks and a killer ending. That’s better than some of the professional stuff out there and this is by a student!!!
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve been coming back many many times to watch it. It is so beautiful and inspiring to me. I have this song on my ipod now, I just can’t get over it!
Its amazing. I like a lot the mood how you can understand all without a word the designs the shots and the ending is so well thought. I hope you keep going like this!! So inspiring!
That’s MY brother…..! :-)
What! Laura, go to your room!
I’ll tell dad you’re meddling in my business again :)
