The Powerpuff Girls Turn 15

It’s hard to believe that Craig McCracken’s Powerpuff Girls turn fifteen years old this month. When the series premiered on Cartoon Network on November 18, 1998, it was the highest rated premiere in the network’s history at the time.

To celebrate the girls’ quinceañera, artist Chogrin has created this art blog tribute. It’s packed with not only drawn tributes, but an ambitious remake of the title sequence by Salba Combe:

  • Roberto Severino

Congratulations to everyone who worked on the Powerpuff Girls. It was a big part of my childhood and upon rewatching some of the episodes, I find that it still holds up pretty well, especially with the wonderful art direction it had. I am so happy that Craig McCracken is still finding success in the industry, especially with his Wander Over Yonder series for Disney. Great tribute from Chogrin!

For a second, seeing the thumbnail, I thought they were remaking it! Anyway, congrats to a great show :D

As a matter of fact, it is in the works.

they’re remaking it in CGI but I’m not sure if it’s still in the works or cancelled

  • Rufus Chickenplight

Powerpuff Girls were pretty damn great.

That fan art reminds of Monster High more than the Powerpuff Girls for some reason…

15 years of the collaboration between shameless capitalism and fandom degeneracy (plus I always prefered David Feiss’ work)

      We have our faves.
