Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fans will get a chance to head back to Night City. During an Anime Expo 2025 panel on Friday, CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger announced a second season of the critically acclaimed anime, which will stream, like Season 1, on Netflix.

UPDATE: Netflix has now also shared the teaser for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2:

The announcement came during a panel hosted by Joey “The Anime Man” Bizinger and featured CDPR writer and producer Bartosz Sztybor, original Edgerunners director Hiroyuki Imaishi, and voice actors Emi Lo (Lucy) and Zach Aguilar (David).

“David’s story might be over, but there’s plenty more to discover in Night City,” said Sztybor. “And to again have the legendary animation studio Trigger along for the ride makes us at CD Projekt Red so excited to introduce a raw, real chronicle of redemption and revenge, something unlike what we’ve done before.”

Kai Ikarashi, who previously worked on Edgerunners and SSSS.Gridman, will make his directorial debut on the series. Ikarashi shared a recorded video message with fans, explaining his vision for the new installment. CDPR also revealed the series’ logo and poster during the panel.

The project will feature returning artists, including character designer Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Edgerunners) and screenwriter Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare), who will adapt Sztybor’s story.

While no release date was given, the series is currently in production. A closed-door teaser screening was held later in the evening during Studio Trigger’s own panel at the Peacock Theater. In a subsequent release, the companies released the anime’s official logo (above) and its poster art (below).
