‘Tom And Jerry’ Anime Will Release In The U.S. On Youtube
Warner Bros. is planning to release Tom & Jerry Gokko, a kawaii anime series, on Youtube.
Premiere date has not been announced, but a new trailer promotes that the show is “coming soon”:
Per the official synopsis: “Tom, a fussy cat who can’t be hated, Jerry, a cute but clever mouse, and Tuffy, a small and cute mouse, all transform into adorable characters, such as their favorite food.”
This cute-ified reimagining of Hanna and Barbera’s famous cat-and-mouse duo isn’t entirely new. The series of 52 mini-shorts started rolling out in Japan in 2022 and continue to be launched at the rate of approximately one per month.
The series is directed by Kodai Sato and produced by Fanworks and Studio Nanahoshi for Cartoon Network Japan.
This year marks the 85th anniversary of Tom and Jerry; the characters first debuted in the 1940 MGM theatrical animated short Puss Gets the Boot. Here are more details about WB’s year-long campaign to recognize the longevity of this iconic comedy team.
