Z is for Zagreb
At the
fwak blog, Lili and Eddie write about some early Zagreb cartoons they recently saw: "If Disney's objective was to create the 'Illusion Of Life', then the Zagreb school wasn't under any illusions. Zagreb characters behave like drawings, and as a result create their own kind of life." It's an incredible shame that the vast majority of the studio's output from the '50s and '60s (Zagreb's golden age) isn't available on video/dvd.
