The Television Academy has revealed the winners of this year’s juried Emmy Awards from several categories, including individual achievement in animation. Netflix won five out of the six awards in the category.

Artists from Netflix’s Arcane scored three juried awards, as the series bolstered its credentials for the outstanding animated program race next month. Color artists Anne-Laure To (“The Boy Savior” episode), art director Julien Georgel (“Happy Progress Day!”), and background designer Bruno Couchinho (“When These Walls Come Tumbling Down”) each won Emmys for their work on the video game-derived series.

Kecy Salangad, animator on fellow Netflix production The House, produced by the U.K.’s Nexus Studios, was also honored. Netflix’s Love, Death + Robots got some love as well, with former winner Alberto Mielgo – who also just won the Oscar for his short The Windshield Wiper – adding another Emmy to his collection. Both Arcane and Love, Death + Robots are also nominated for the outstanding sound editing Emmy.

The only non-Netflix winner was Lexy Naut, who won a juried Emmy for work on the “Boyd in 3D” episode of Prime Video’s The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

Juried category hopefuls are screened by a panel of professionals in the appropriate peer groups with the possibility of one, more than one, or no entry awarded an Emmy. As a result, there are no nominees. Instead, there is a one-step evaluation and voting procedure.

The juried awards will be presented on the first day of the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held at the Microsoft Theater on September 3-4. An edited version of the ceremony will be broadcast on September 10 on FXX.
