Forget the Olympics: as far as we’re concerned, this is the Japanese event of the year. Readers lucky enough to be in the country should head to The National Art Center in Tokyo between October 1 and December 19, when the museum will be holding its Hideaki Anno Exhibition.
The career of the animator, designer, director, and Evangelion creator will be explored in depth. Exhibits will include illustrations, keyframes, scripts, notes, layouts, and storyboards, as well as models used for the practical effects in Anno’s live-action productions.
