You’re Invited To An ‘Ultraman: Rising’ FYC Screening, Q&A, And Reception

Cartoon Brew is pleased to invite you to a special screening of the Netflix Animation feature Ultraman: Rising followed by a Q&A, hosted by Cartoon Brew editor-in-chief Amid Amidi, with director Shannon Tindle, co-director John Aoshima, producers Tom Knott and Lisa Poole, and production designer Marcos Mateu-Mestre. A reception with refreshments will follow the event.

Ultraman: Rising is a heartfelt and funny tribute to the tokusatsu and kaiju genres, with visually stunning animation by Industrial Light & Magic. The story focuses on the son of the original Ultraman who returns to Tokyo, estranged from his father’s legacy as the size-shifting red-and-silver liveried superhero, and who is forced to step into his father’s shoes when he becomes guardian of an orphaned kaiju.

The film scored highly with audiences and critics, and has, so far, been nominated for two Hollywood Professional Association Awards, for outstanding visual effects and outstanding color grading.
