King Features Syndicate is teaming with L.A. studio Chromosphere to adapt the popular kids’ comic strip Slylock Fox as an animated film. Along with the announcement, the studios released a poster of a stylized Slylock looking ready for his big screen debut.

Project details:

  • The film, currently in development, will follow the Sherlock Holmes-esque detective Slylock and his sidekick Max Mouse as they go head-to-head against a group of eccentric villains.
  • Evan Daugherty (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Snow White and the Huntsman) is writing and producing, with L.A.-based Chromosphere Studio producing and handling animation. C.J. Kettler, art director and president of King Features, will serve as executive producer.
  • Slylock Fox is one of several properties King Features is currently developing for tv and film. Recently, the company produced The Cuphead Show for Netflix, adapted from the viral video game Cuphead.
