Mario Looks Smashing In New Trailer For ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ But Peach Steals The Show

Film details:

• The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by multi-Emmy-nominated Teen Titans Go! showrunners Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part), co-writer of Illumination’s Minions: The Rise of Gru, this year’s biggest animated hit at the global box office.
• It’s produced by Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto. It is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and released worldwide by Universal Pictures.
• Along with the trailer, Illumination has released a series of posters for the film’s main characters, seen below.
• The Super Mario Bros. Movie was originally supposed to launch in December of this year but was pushed back to April 7, 2023.
• Nintendo recently purchased its own cg animation studio, Dynamo Pictures (now called Nintendo Pictures Co., Ltd.), however, this film was made by Illumination at Illumination Mac Guff in Paris.
• The film’s key voice cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. Charles Martinet, the original voice of Mario, is also involved in the film.
