Cartoon Brew Is 14 Years Old!

Cartoon Brew launched on this day – March 15 – back in 2004. This was our first post after announcing the site’s public launch.

Fourteen years ago, the site had a few hundred dedicated daily readers who tuned in for the irregular and random thoughts of a couple of animation fanatics, and it was a fun little hobby.

Today, we’ve got a significantly larger following that relies on us for timely news and insights about the animation industry. And it takes a hard-working team of more than 10 people to make it all happen on a daily basis.

One thing hasn’t changed though: what drove us to start the site in 2004 and what inspires us to continue producing it fourteen years later is an all-consuming passion for animation, and the belief that this art form is the most vital and colossally important of all modern arts.

It’s especially exciting to be a part of the community at this moment in time, as the animation art form experiences an unprecedented global boom, with more people in more countries creating more animation than ever before, and more viewers consuming it across more platforms than ever before. We don’t know exactly where it’s all headed, but we hope you’ll continue with us on this fantastic animated journey.
