Toon Boom Animation, the Montreal, Canada-based company behind software used widely in the animation industry, has launched Harmony 17, its latest version of its flagship production package used for animating, special effects, sound, and compositing.

The new update offers 40 new-and-improved features, including upgrades to the software’s core drawing engine. “With an improved drawing engine and new features focused on hand-drawn animation — including drawing stabilizers, adjustable pen sensitivity settings and curvilinear perspective guides for large panning backgrounds — artists have more precision and control available to them than ever before,” says Marc-Andre Bouvier, product manager at Toon Boom Animation.

Toon Boom is available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. The company offers a free 21-day trial period to try the software.

To celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary, Toon Boom is offering a 25% discount on annual licenses of Harmony and Storyboard Pro through August 31. To buy the software, visit the Toon Boom website.
