Spend an evening with stop motion master Henry Selick, director of Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Selick will screen his personal shorts and participate in a Q&A in downtown Los Angeles at an event set to take place October 1.

Presented by GLAS, the animation organization that staged a fantastic animation festival in Berkeley, California earlier this year, “An Evening with Henry Selick” will showcase the filmmaker’s early student work, including Slow Bob In the Lower Dimensions, Seepage, and Phases, in addition to other unannounced surprises. A conversation with Selick will follow, moderated by GLAS co-founder and filmmaker Einar Baldvin. Afterwards there will be a reception.

Tickets for the event are $25 and seating is limited due to the size of the theater. ASIFA members can receive 15% off using the checkout code ASIFA2016, while students and CalArts alum receive 20% off by using the code STUDENT3000 (ASIFA membership or student ID must be presented upon entry). To purchase tickets, go to the GLAS website.

“An Evening with Henry Selick” will take place at the Downtown Independent (251 S. Main St. Los Angeles, CA 90012).
