Fantastic Mr. Fox Display at Bergdorf Goodman

Fantastic Mr. Fox

The Bergdorf Goodman Men’s Store in Manhattan has fantastic window displays this season…Fantastic Mr. Fox displays that is. The twelve windows feature character puppets, props and background elements that were used in the production of the film. The store is located at Fifth Avenue and 58th Street. My pal C. Edwards who snapped the iPhone pics above pointed out that Wes Anderson’s twee aesthetic was also applied to the Louis Vuitton display windows with The Darjeeling Limited. Better photos of the displays can be found on this website.

    Nice displays.

If you can’t make it to east coast to Bergdorf Goodman, there are a few of the puppets on display at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco too. Two sets with about 10 puppets including a snarling dog behind a door. Very nice stuff.

I checked their windows earlier today. I don’t know if it’s the beginning or the end of the display, but the windows are covered up with drapes that say “Bergdorf Goodman Window Display Premieres on November 23rd”. :O

Squirrel, you needed to turn around. I think you were looking at the Bergdorf Goodman Women store’s windows across the street.

Yeah, I knew it was N.Y. after looking at the reflection on the window, can’t wait to see this film saw the previews, was fantastic like the title.

It’s nice to see that there are some stores that still put up special Christmas window displays (as opposed to just sticking a tree in with the usual mannequins). I thought that was becoming a lost art.

  • Celia

Can I have one of those for Christmas? I’ve been very good!

  • TheGunheart

Speaking of which…where’s the merch for this movie?

  • Erin

I, for one, completely agree. I would adore a stuffed animal version of Mr. Fox or any of his family. They’re so cute!

Now this would be nice to see doing a little global tour… perhaps starting off in London… Paul Smith or Selfridges perhaps? ( mind you, Fortnum & Mason would somehow be apt..)

This is one of the cutest marketing displays that I can remember seeing in a long time. :)

I also heard there were some sets on display at the Cartoon Art Museum in SF.
