“Burrow” by Frederico Gutierrez (NSFW)

If drawings of cartoon people in the nude is NSFW – then Burrow by Frederico Gutierrez is “Not Safe For Work”. This is Gutierrez’ graduation film from the Vancouver Film School Classical Animation program. I have no idea what its about – but I enjoyed its surreal sensibility.

The oversized navels are reminiscent of Highlights for Children magazine strip The Timbertoes, although I don’t think any of those characters roamed around naked (topless, maybe).

Perhaps we’ll learn more, if Frederico makes a sequel about the journey with the wolf-woman into the big hole in the ground.

It certainly feels like it’s going somewhere but we’re kinda being cut off pretty quickly.

Wonderful display of nonsense. Fedrerico must make another movie soon. Not a sequel. Loose ends are what life is all about. Loose ends and nudity.

I didn’t understand what it’s really about either but I really enjoyed it.
