First Footage from Craig McCracken’s “Wander Over Yonder”

These two promos are the publicly released footage that I’ve seen from Wander Over Yonder, the upcoming Disney Channel series created by Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends).

Also, here’s a lo-quality version of the trailer that someone recorded at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con:

    Thanks, Jeff. Updated that. :)

  • Roberto Severino

I have a very good feeling about this cartoon. It looks like a ton of fun. Can’t wait to find out when it’s going to premiere.

  • Joel

I’m super excited about this show! I hope Disney Channel gets even more awesome cartoons in the future! (After a long dry spell, things seem to be looking up a little as of late.)

  • SarahJesness

It looks fun! I’m a bit surprised it’s appearing on Disney Channel. Disney Channel hasn’t been big on animation for a while now. Maybe they’re trying to get back into it?

  • Michael Fox

I think you posted the same video twice. I’d liked the first one and would love to see the second.

And isn’t Jack McBrayer the voice of the title character? Because if it is then that’s the perfect voice for someone who eternally happy. He was perfect as Fix-It Felix in Wreck-It Ralph…and he had a good appearance as the Espys as an NFL replacement ref (Pete Carroll bought him a car!).

  • William Bradford

Looks good.. though aren’t both promo’s the same video?

    • AmidAmidi

That’s been fixed. There are two different videos.

      • William Bradford

AH so you have, beg pardon. Haha YES, I can see some potential here

      • Michael Fox

Thanks for fixing. And that is Jack McBrayer, I asked if it was and checked and I’m glad it is him. With Gravity Falls’ season ending August 2 I need something to fill the time; I hope this works!

  • Crystal

I’ve been waiting about a year and a half for this show and I”m grateful for these promos . . . but much like a lot of animated trailers, it kinda focuses on jokes that don’t look so great out of context. Still want some SDCC updates! Really excited for this show.

Nice to hear more of Jack McBrayer and April Winchell as well!

It never fails to crack me up that almost every cartoon on Disney Channel is now being produced by ex-Cartoon Network employees. Cartoon Network had such a good thing going and they let so much talent slip away.

Anyway, Wander looks great. Craig McCracken is a true original and I’m glad one network is smart enough to employee him.

What you say about creators is true, however Nick has also given a home to a LOT of behind the scenes people, both in animation and support. CN builds up with one hand, and tears down with two.

  • Mark Neeley

I’m a bit surprised that McCracken actually created another animated series after Foster’s and all the PPG anniversary stuff ended and he left CN. I recall hearing in a couple of interviews that he might finally use that time to explore other mediums like comic strips. That being said I am extremely grateful that he produced a new series and I too have been anticipating WOY since he put out the sketchbook 3-4 years ago. These new trailers look very promising.

Breath of fresh air, but something about this doesn’t seem like it’ll be around long, just above average. But more creative original ideas= good!

  • Crystal

Hey look! More footage! Some of it kinda hard to hear though . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9_YHJ679Rg

    • jmahon

WOW that style of animation is straight out of the late 90s early 2000s CN! I love it! Wander is already adorable, I don’t know if I can wait until it airs.

  • jhalpernkitcat

I remember when I first saw some sketches of this fellow on Craig’s Deviantart page. I always loved the Powerpuff Girls, although I never really got into Foster’s Home for some reason. I loved this character’s design. He looks like a lot of fun–like some sort of outerspace hippie!

  • Arthur F.

Really admire McCracken’s work, but not feeling this so far from the trailers. Maybe it’s the Disney commercial feel. Style wise, it seems to draw on something from the old “Koos” character (Dexters also PPuff cameo) and I hope not.

  • Anthony D.

And once again, another hit by Craig and another hit for Disney! :)

  • cam

visuals look good….. but Yonder seems kinda blad hope things improve

  • Matt Norcross

They should have said “From the creator of The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends…” at the beginning of each of those trailers.
